Iron Knitter starts at 8pm ET on January 20, 2010 with the release of the first pattern.
The largest, bloodiest, extreme knitting tournament in the world.
Sign-up for Sock Wars V, and you will receive a top-secret file containing your target's information. To "kill" your target, you must follow the pattern to make a weapon (a pair of socks) for your event, and mail it to your target. Your target is "dead" when they receive your weapon. Your target then sends their incomplete weapon to you, along with their target's information, and you complete their weapon to kill their target. At the same time you are trying to kill your target, your assassin is trying to kill you. Join us and find out how exciting a trip to the mailbox can be as you open it each day to find out if you have killed, or whether you have been killed.
New for Sock Wars V - each warrior competes for the overall titles of Last Knitter Standing and Knitter with the Most Kills, along with selecting one specialty competition to compete in - Last Male Knitter Standing, Last East Coast Knitter Standing, Last West Coast Knitter Standing, and Last International Warrior Standing. The Winner of Sock Wars V as overall Last Knitter Standing and Knitter with the Most Kills are not eligible to win any of the specialty competitions.
Iron Knitter
New for Sock Wars V is the Iron Knitter competition. 1 list of materials, 6 patterns, and only one knitter who will conquer all 6 patterns to emerge victorious and claim the title of Iron Knitter. Sign-up for Iron Knitter and receive a list of materials. At the start of the competition, a pattern is released featuring a technique or design. To move to the next round, the warrior completes 2 socks using the pattern, takes a picture of the socks and posts the picture on Ravelry or in a Flicker account with a link on to the picture on Ravelry.
